Homemade Pop Tart Filling


2 cups - organic unbleached all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon - Kosher salt
1 cup - (2 sticks) of Organic Unsalted Butter (chilled)
4 tablespoons - ice cold water
1 teaspoon - Organic Pure Cane Sugar
Organic Powdered Sugar


Prep Time - 180 minutes      Cook Time - 25 minutes

  • In a large bowl mix together the flour, kosher salt and pure cane sugar
  • Mix in the butter and then add water by tablespoon until it forms into a dough
  • Once formed into a dough, cut in half and flatten into two disk shapes and wrap in plastic and allow to chill for about an hour
  • Roll out the dough over flour and trim down to a 12X10- inch rectangle and then cut into smaller rectangles for each of the pop tarts
  • Arrange the small rectangles on a baking sheet with parchment paper and spoon the Mediterranean Organic Wild Berry Preserves in the center of each rectangle.  Top the Preserves with another rectangle and press down the edges with a fork to seal it closed
  • Poke a few holes in the top of each pop tart and freeze for two hours before cooking
  • Bake the frozen tarts in the oven at 375 degrees Fahrenheit until they are golden brown for about 25 minutes. 
  • After they are done baking, sprinkle organic powdered sugar over them to serve
